Today, I got a Valentine's Day card in the mail from my Mommy.
It wasn't much, a cute little card that said "Love, February 14th" on the outside, and on the inside it read "Thinking of you, Bugly!" I had been talking about the foolishness of Valentine's Day earlier in the day with my boyfriend- about what a "Hallmark" holiday it can be.
The more that I thought about this cute little card that my Mommy had made for me, the more I realized how Valentine's Day can be something more than just a cheesy card and a box of chocolates. Maybe every so often we need a little nudge to remember who is most dear to us and why. Maybe we need that extra little prodding to remind them.
Love isn't just for your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, or partner.
Love is for everyone you hold dear- for your friends, for your companions, and most importantly, for your family.
