Live Saving Parents

A couple of days ago I was at a lesson where we were asked to do a word association practice. The teacher would say a word and we were supposed to write down 1-2 words that we thought of first. The first word she said was “home”. Most people wrote down things like “Love” or “Family” or “Comfort”
Then she said the word “Parents”. Most people wrote down similar words like “Loving” or “Family”, but there was one girl who wrote something slightly more unique. This girl was adopted into a loving family when she was younger. She may not look like the rest of her family, but she is most definitely a part of that family. When she wrote down a word to be associated with “parents” she wrote down life-saving”. You could tell how extremely grateful she was for her parents who chose to take her in and be her real family. She felt very blessed to be a part of a family instead of an orphan far away in another country. Although her word choice was very specific to her and her mother who was also there, she prefaced her statement by saying “this is for all of you parents who are here”. Parents who care and watch over their children and are just there, are truly “Life-saving”.

I also wanted to make sure I pointed out how great adoption can be for some children. Especially in regards to my previous post. I want to make sure people realize that we hope to be able to reconnect those children who already have families with their family who still loves and cares about them, but currently cannot support them, but that adoptive families themselves can also be that family for a child who otherwise would have to go without.
We are so grateful for parents of all kinds, all over the world, who care and look after their children
