Tonight I watched a documentary on the education system in the US with my mom. It's called Waiting on Superman.
There were a lot of eye-opening things about children and eduction in that documentary, but something small stood out to me.
Every parent (or grandparent) in that documentary said something along the lines of " I just want what's best for my child". You could see the hope in their expressions that their children would somehow live a good, healthy, educated life.
And then there was that one little boy. My guess is that he was about 10 or 11 years old. The interviewer asked him why he wanted to get an education. His response? something along the lines of "someday when I have kids, I want them to have better life than me" An elementary school child already understands the deep, sincere desires parent's have for the future of their children
.
I may not be a parent myself yet, but like the elementary school boy I can sense the emotions of a parent. That's why I'm putting so much effort into this organization. I want what's best for my children, your children... all children. And we can't do that without the support of families.
