My younger brother recently celebrated his 16th birthday. In addition, he celebrated the accomplishment of no longer being my "little" brother- he's officially taller than me.
I'm incredibly proud of the young man that my brother is becoming. He's considerate, respectful, genuinely kind, intelligent and resourceful . . . At least, as much as a 16 year old boy can claim to be :)
What I've realized, though, is that this fantastic young man is a product of our entire family. All of the encouragement, love, guidance and support that my family has provided for one another over the years has helped to show him how important it is to be a good member of society.
I've seen what an important and positive impact a good support system from your family can make. My Family Butterfly hopes to provide these systems for those who may not be able to keep it on their own.
