What Do You Call "Family"?

Elizabeth Jane Howard, English novelist, was once quoted saying, "call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family: whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one."
I couldn't agree more. So often we get hung up in defining something, when perhaps what we ought to be doing is focusing on the meaning. Clan, network, tribe, family- does what you call your family really matter? As long as you support for one another, love one another, and remember to remind one another of all of this, the title is just an association. The importance of the word comes from the passion and care behind it.
Because this meaning of family is such a versatile one, at My Family Butterfly we are working to create a system and network that encompasses all types of families. There is no perfect mold for family, much as there is no perfect mold for people. We are all a work in progress, and with the support of family, we can all work each and every day to make that progress.
